The Ottawa Comic Jam is a group of comic artists, writers and enthusiasts that meets at the Shanghai Restaurant on the last Wednesday of the month (except December). The Jam is a great way to meet new people, talk comics, draw together and encourage creativity. Themes are determined on a monthly basis and artwork can be of an adult nature. Artwork is collected at the end of the evg and posted regularly.

August 29th, 2018 Telepathy - UPDATED
August's theme was Telepathy! Everyone enjoyed exploring the idea and having fun seeing just how far stomping into someone's brain could go..

May 30th, 2018 Comic Jam 9th Anniversary UPDATED

Thanks to Scott MacLellan, Amy VanTorre, Ifer Lawrence, C.D. Rudd, Clayton Jacobs, James Rule, Liz Walsh, Gérard Bélec and Denis Belair for taking the time to share their creativity with the group!
We are also fortunate to have such a great venue for art-making at the Shanghai Restaurant. There is always interesting, varied artwork on the walls to help inspire us and the Kwan family make us feel right at home.
May's theme was Jack "The King" Kirby! I used photocopied cut-outs from a fantastic book I found at the Ottawa Public Library to launch ideas for panels. Also, for a few areas where the writing was a bit hard to see, I want to thank Nate Piekos at the Blambot fonts for the use of his 'BackIssues' font which made the art pop!
Here's to another nine years. Thanks everyone for continuing to make the Ottawa Comic Jam a success.

February 28th 2018 Mazes/ Labyrinths - UPDATED
Las February, we had TWO JAMS. Whyy? Well because January was a jerk and dumped a bunch of snow on our regular January Jam date. This is the 2nd jam in Feb, for extra goodness. The theme was Mazes/ Labyrinths and people had a grand time drawing, laughing and chatting.
